Maria Gloria Fressia, J.D.

Maria Gloria Fressia was born in Uruguay, where she received a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of the Republic in 1978. As a lawyer in Uruguay, Fressia advocated decisively for women's rights. She taught Procedural Law at the School of Law of the Republican University for fifteen years, and published several law related articles. Fressia participated in projects aimed to transform the civil procedure in Uruguay from mainly written to mainly oral, providing extensive training to judges and lawyers once the new statutes were approved.

Since moving to Minnesota in 2001, Fressia started working with the Battered Women's Legal Advocacy Project where she developed the Immigration Initiative Path to Freedom, managed some other projects, and became one of the Managing Partners of the Agency.

Rana SA Fuller, Esq.

Rana Fuller has worked in the domestic violence field since 1997. Ms. Fuller joined the Battered Women's Legal Advocacy Project (BWLAP) in 2005 and is a Managing Partner. Ms. Fuller is the attorney for the statewide organization and she provides legal advice and consultation to battered women, advocates and attorneys on legal issues that effect domestic violence victims. Ms. Fuller is responsible for training and outreach to attorneys involving issues of domestic violence and the law.

Ms. Fuller is a graduate of Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts, and received, with distinction, her Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology and Women Studies from Iowa State University. Ms. Fuller is licensed in both Massachusetts and Minnesota.

Deirdre Keys

Deirdre Keys joined BWLAP January 2009 to coordinate the Stalking Program. Formerly Cornerstone Advocacy Service, Ms. Keys has made Stalking Response her focus of service for the last three years, which included systems change advocacy and direct service to only to stalking victims. She has written, with her community participants, the State of Minnesota Stalking Response Protocol. Ms. Keys has been working with and on behalf of victims of domestic violence for 15 years. Ms. Keys is a consultant to law enforcement, prosecution, probation, and victim services with regard to the nature of Stalking and has provided training statewide to this audience. Ms. Keys will participate as Faculty in the next Stalking Resource Center National Training.
